Lifting Up the Voices of Essential Workers

Essential workers are the key to our recovery. Grocery workers, janitors, child care providers, restaurant workers, agricultural workers - and so many more - were deemed essential, going to work under the most dire circumstances. While they worked so that our communities could survive the pandemic, many essential women workers remained grossly underpaid, vulnerable to harassment and in industries and environments that didn’t have their safety in mind.

Policies that address the obstacles threatening working women and their families are more important than ever.

It is critical that these essential workers are at the center of economic recovery efforts.
